Copenhagen hosts congress on sustainable solutions
The Danish capital has been chosen as host city of 2014’s IARU Sustainability Science Congress.
The congress invites experts from different disciplines to initiate a broader collaboration on sustainable solutions relevant for society with a focus on climate, resources, economy, nature, health, education and society. The aim is to stimulate the scientific community to work together for holistic solutions and provide a platform for new solutions to global challenges.
The International Alliance of Research Universities is behind next year’s congress hosted by the University of Copenhagen. The International Alliance of Research Universities includes Australian National University, ETH Zürich, National University of Singapore, Peking University, University of California, Berkeley, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University of Tokyo, Yale University and University of Copenhagen.
Some of the keynote speakers are Connie Hedegaard, EU-Commissioner for Climate Action, and Johan Rockström, Director of Stockholm Resilience Centre.
The congress will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark from October 22nd – 24th 2014 at the Radisson Blu Falconer Hotel & Conference Center.
