Four winners in Green Innovation Contest
Koljern, together with Ejektorböj, Optistring and MicProS, were the four winners in the Green Innovation Contest 2012.
The competition was settled during the Sustainability Day in Stockholm on April 23rd. 120 competitors participated in the contest from all over the country. Out of these, four different innovations were named the top green innovations, ranging from energy and construction to resource-efficiency and industry applications.
MicProS has been developed by Matilda Olstorpe from Uppsala and her team. The innovation transforms decay products and food waste to protein feeding for fish farms.
Ejektorböjar is developed by Karl-Erik Andersson from Finspång. The innovation solves problems and reduces energy losses that arise in pipes and ventilations.
Opistring has been developed by Anders Lindgren frm Stockholm and his team. The innovation is a way of converting and feeding electricity from solar panels into the power grid. The founder of Koljern is Åke Mård from Sundsvall.
KoljernTM is a light-weight building technique that combines aluminium sheet with foamglass insulation – which is 75 per cent recycled glass – and can be used for building foundations, wall elements, curtain walls and cantilevered decks or roofs.
Green Innovation Contest is organized by Innovatum AB and financed by the Swedish Energy Agency, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth and Region Västra Götaland. The aim is to help sustainable innovations to get out on the market.
