National strategy on energy efficient restorations
The Swedish government has assigned Boverket, the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, and the Swedish Energy Agency to formulate a proposition for a national strategy on investments in restorations that increase the energy efficiency.
The commission is part of the recently adopted directive on energy efficiency. The new proposal should among other comprise an evidence-based estimation of expected future energy savings (in 2020, 2030, 2040 and 2050). It should also include socioeconomic benefits and costs. Furthermore, the proposal should identify what cost efficient restoration methods that are relevant to specific building types and climate zones.
The strategy will include residential buildings and commercial buildings, both publicly-owned and privately-owned.
