Skanska rebuilds Klara C

Skanska has signed an agreement with Vasakronan for the refurbishment and modernization of the Klara C building on Vasagatan 14 in central Stockholm.

The order value amounts to approximately SEK 800 million, which is included in Skanska Sweden’s inflow of orders for the fourth quarter of 2013. The cultural-historically valuable property has 12 stories and a gross area of 48 000 square meters is to be refurbished and modernized in its entirety. The building start is scheduled to initiate on March 1 2014. As the work is finished by the end of 2016 the house will contain offices, conference premises, restaurants and shops.

According to Skanska, the building will meet up to high sustainability demands. The ambition is that the refurbishment will be LEED certified at Platinum, the top level.
