Skanska signs deal for green building project
Skanska has signed an agreement with Bostads AB Vätterhem for the construction of a new housing area in Jönköping with a green and sustainable focus.
According to the agreement, Skanska will construct the first stage of a the new Strandvägen neighborhood, situated by the lake Vättern in Jönköping. The deal involves 80 apartments in the so-called “Snake house” designed by Tengbom Architects. The deal is according to Skanska worth SEK 145 million.
The new Strandvägen district will be built with great focus on sustainability and innovative architecture and a total of 700 apartments are planned. The “Snake house” is intended to be designed with an environmental certification according to Miljöbyggnad level SILVER, which entails requirements on among other material, indoor environment and energy consumption. For example, the building will be equipped with solar cells and heat exchanger.
The building is estimated to be ready for occupation in the autumn of 2015.
