Sweco assists in environmental analysis of Swedish rivers
Vattenregleringsföretagen in Östersund hires Sweco to describe the ecological conditions for some of Sweden’s larger rivers.
Sweco’s mission will result in a decision basis for measures that can reduce water power’s harmful effects. The commitment will go on during the fall of 2013 and includes data collection, interviews and map analysis.
“We will assist the power producing companies in building up a collected base of knowledge so that they can become the front runners of implementing measures that improve the conditions for aquatic organisms,” says Erik Brydolf, Project Manager at Sweco.
Vattenregleringsföretagen in Östersund is owned by Vattenfall, E.ON, Fortum, Jämtkraft, Holmen Energi, Statkraft, Skellefteå Kraft and a number of smaller companies.
