Vantaan Energia Oy – builds new waste-to-energy plant.

Energy production | The urban energy company Vantaan Energia Oy is currently building a new waste-to-energy plant on its own site in Vantaa, located in the southern part of Finland. The power plant will be in use by 2014 and will produce both electricity and heat. The fuel used in the plant will be source-separated mixed waste. When completed, the plant will reduce the company’s use of coal in electricity and heat production by 30 percent. The company has also been granted EUR 1.54 million from the Finnish government to support the use of new energy-efficient technology in the construction of the plant.

Vantaan Energia Oy, founded in 1910, produces and sells electricity and district heating and offers natural gas for industrial applications.
